Shooting completed: Love is thicker than water from Ate de Jong
JOHNNY FLYNN and LYDIA WILSON star in the new British off beat romantic feature LOVE IS THICKER THAN WATER. Sensitive and touching, sometimes quirky and tragic, always uncompromisingly truthful, the film offers a surprising fresh look how conflicting family ties challenge love in a modern day Romeo and Juliet story.
Besides JOHNNY FLYNN (Song One) and LYDIA WILSON (About Time) the film is graced with the acting talents of JULIET STEVENSON (Truly Madly Deeply), HENRY GOODMAN (multiple Olivier award winner), JESSICA GUNNING (Pride), AL WEAVER (Grantchester), EDWARD AKROUT (Mr Selfridge) and MATT BARBER (Downton Abbey). Newcomer REMY BEASLEY will make the audience both howl with laughter and provoke a possible tear.
LOVE IS THICKER THAN WATER boosts two directors: ATE DE JONG (Drop Dead Fred) and EMILY HARRIS (filmmaker at the Victoria & Albert Museum)
Ate de Jong: “It is such a privilige that a talented young director like Emily has bestowed her vision and visual style onto this very personal story.”
Emily Harris: “The acceptionally strong characters in the script attracted me to the project. On top of that the collaboration with Ate has made it into a unique and very dynamic experience.”
Financing has been provided by Ingenious London (Avatar, Pride, Selma. Mr. Turner) and Mulholland Pictures Amsterdam (Discovery of Heaven, Deadly Virtues).
The film is slated to be released in English speaking territories by late 2015.
Love Is Thicker Than Water net op Chichester film festival gezien. ‘The coffin scene’ is geweldig. Een bijzondere film en hoop dat de film goed aan bod komt in Nederland.
